Nubia V70 Design Review: Features and Specifications

Unveiling innovation in mid-range smartphones, the Nubia V70 Design arrives with an impressive 6.7-inch display, featuring a 120 Hz refresh rate. This sleek device combines modern aesthetics with enhanced functionality, offering a superior viewing experience, AI-powered features, and long-lasting battery life for everyday use.

At the beginning of March 2025, Nubia officially launched the Nubia V70 Design in the Vietnamese market. This is the latest mid-range smartphone in the Nubia V Series, serving as the successor to the Nubia V60 Design. I had the opportunity to get my hands on the Nubia V70 Design to share this review with you.

Inside the box, you’ll find several accessories including a user manual, a SIM eject tool, a charger, a charging cable, a protective case, and a separate screen protector (for user installation rather than pre-applied by the manufacturer).

Overall Design and Some Notable Details

In terms of overall design, the Nubia V70 Design features a 6.7-inch display with thick bezels surrounding the screen, typical for mid-range smartphones. Notably, the screen supports a 120 Hz refresh rate instead of the standard 90 Hz, which is common among competitors like the HONOR X5b, Redmi A3, and realme Note 60.

The Nubia V70 Design’s display boasts a screen-to-body ratio of 91%, as shared by Nubia. This large screen allows for an impressive viewing experience, making it suitable for watching content or browsing websites smoothly.

The device features uniformly thick bezels around the top, left, and right sides of the display, which contributes to its modern aesthetic appeal. Overall, the display provides decent image quality, especially considering its mid-range smartphone classification.

The smartphone’s design features a sleek, boxy look with matte-finished, flat edges that are more resistant to fingerprints. The corners are subtly rounded to enhance comfort when holding the phone and reduce strain on hands during usage.

The sides of the Nubia V70 Design are finished in a matte texture. The rounded corners are designed to minimize issues like uncomfortable hand grip that can occur with sharper edges.

I’ll touch on some key points about the Nubia V70 Design’s frame. The top of the device only houses a microphone.

The bottom edge of the device features a microphone, a USB-C charging port, an external speaker, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, which is often seen in mid-range smartphones for universal headphone compatibility.

The standout design feature of the Nubia V70 Design is the faux leather back. Nubia shares that this design not only adds a modern and stylish look but also provides a comfortable grip. In my hands-on experience, the faux leather back is pleasant to the touch and doesn’t easily retain fingerprints, making it easy to clean.
